Former
Senator John Grant first came to Tallahassee in 1965, where he worked in
the Institute of Governmental Research at Florida State University. He
holds bachelors and masters degrees in government and political science
and a Juris Doctorate degree, as well as two honorary doctorates. He has
worked in state and local government in city management and was
appointed to a position in the US Department of Education by President
Ronald Reagan.
First
elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 1980 and then to the
Florida Senate in 1986, he has served with six Florida governors through
twenty- one years as a member of the Florida legislature, where he
chaired seven standing and numerous select committees. He has also
served on the faculties of The University of Tampa, Hillsborough
Community College and the University of South Florida, teaching law,
government and politics. Over the years, he has received many legislative
awards and has been selected as “legislator of the year” by numerous
organizations.
Previously, owner of Moore Relations, a government affairs consulting
firm, Travis joined FCAG in 2005. At Moore Relations, he represented a
number of high profile clients before the legislative and executive
branches of Florida government and in addition was responsible for
client origination and cultivation. He was active on both the political
and post election with members of the legislature and a number of
current legislators were elected with Travis at the helm of their
successful campaigns.
He
established working relations from the lowest levels of local government
to the governor and cabinet. Prior to entering private practice he
served as Chief Legislative Aide for the Chairman of the Senate
Commerce, Banking and Insurance, Education and Judiciary committees. He
was also on the staff of the House of Representatives. In the private
sector, he was in the insurance industry affiliated with the National
Claims Center for Allstate Insurance Company.
A veteran Chief of
Staff for the House and Senate, Mark Anderson knows the decision makers
and the legislative process. He is especially knowledgeable and
successful in appropriations matters.
Having served as
Chief of Staff to the Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee
and Chief Legislative Assistant to the House Republican Majority Whip,
Mark brings a wealth of experience and a network of valuable legislative
relationships across the state that continue to bear significant results
for his clientele. He has testified before scores of committees and
enjoys the respect of his colleagues and legislators on the hill.
Mark also knows how
to get candidates elected and how to work with them for the benefit of
his clients once they are elected. He has successfully managed many
local, legislative and statewide campaigns. Because of this active
involvement in the legislative and political process, not just during
the legislative session but throughout the year, Mark is able to provide
his clients with a well-rounded perspective and an unparalleled level of
service.
During
more than twenty years as a legislative wife, Beverley Grant worked with
legislative spouses and lobbied pro bono on issues of importance to
health and safety, while establishing a thorough knowledge of the
lobbying process and cementing strong personal relationships with
members, spouses and legislative staff. She is a gracious hostess and
understands the importance of social relationships in the legislative
process.
She
assisted in running her husband’s House and Senate offices both in
Tallahassee and in the district. She actively coordinated nine political
campaigns and learned how to mobilize grass-roots support whether for a
candidate on the ballot or an issue before the legislature. She holds a
bachelor’s degree in education and taught in public and private schools
for many years. Currently, she coordinates lobbying and servers as Chief
Operating Officer and Administrator for FCAG.
A veteran of many years of
political involvement at the state, federal and local levels, Bill began
as an aide in the Carter presidential campaign and worked his way up
over the years. He is a veteran of many campaigns and enjoys the loyalty
and respect of many elected officials.
He has been a lobbyist in
Tallahassee for more than ten years and has served in that capacity even
longer in Hillsborough County government. His principal client has been
the largest protestant denomination in Florida, where he has taken the
lead in lobbying on issues of life and morality. As such, he enjoys a
very close relationship with a block of legislators who are close to
those issues, and he brings that relationship as a valued member of the
lobby team on any issue.
He also has represented
clients on environmental and real property, mortgage and Real Estate
matters. He is respected, well known, and has the listening ear of key
legislators.
Currently, he hosts a week
day radio broadcast
“Drive Time With Bill Bunkley,”
heard throughout much of Florida, presenting political news, views and
current events.
Jamie Grant
Jamie Grant joined the firm
in 2006 after graduating with a degree in marketing and a minor in
political science from Auburn
University. He has worked in political campaigns and government
relations, and will lead the firm's research unit.
In addition to being with the
firm, he is currently a studying for his Juris Doctor degree from
Stetson University.
